| How to Order a Group of Octavos on Individual Song-Learning Systems™
Groups of octavos are offered only on Individual Song-Learning CDs™ and are commonly ordered for All-State Choirs, Honor Choirs, Children's Choirs, College & University Choirs, Community Choirs, Men's & Women's Choirs. Conductors of All-State Choruses have consistently remarked how much better prepared choruses were who have used our Song-Learning CDs™ than choruses who haven't had the advantage of learning their music to our CDs. Church Choir directors can plan ahead on their anthems and order a group of 6 or more anthems on CDs to prepare anthems for two or three months of services. This is particularly helpful if the choir is learning a major work concurrently. The choir members can do homework on their music and learn all their notes, intervals and rhythms on their own. Rehearsals fall together much faster when choir members have had the advantage of using our Song-Learning CDs™ to learn their music. Feel free to contact us at 1-888-770-7850 or E-Mail HMS with any questions about details of ordering a group of songs on Individual Song-Learning CDs™. We are happy to talk to you about your specific needs. Pricing: We are currently offering the "1+2+3 Plan" for a group of octavos on CDs: *Octavos over 5 minutes in length, are written in non-standard notation or which are unusually complex may cost more. For further information on mechanical license fees, click on this link: Mechanical License Fees. Please feel free to contact HMS for further details. Example: a group of 6 songs on CDs would cost out as follows: Please NOTE: Groups of octavos are NOT available on MASTER Song-Learning CDs™ from which you would make either CD duplicates or tape dubs, ONLY INDIVIDUAL Song-Learning CDs™, which arrive ready to distribute, with each choir member receiving a CD and written instructions. As seen in the examples above, a group of 6 octavos would normally sell for $11 per CD, including written instructions, custom CD labels, paper sleeves for each CD, S&H via Priority Mail, and HMS paying the mechanical license fees to the publishers. Each CD is specific for that choir member's part (SATB or SSAA or TTBB), with their part played on the piano prominently in the foreground, all other parts, accompaniment and soft metronome-like percussion in the background. Each song is introduced with any necessary special instructions. Split parts (S1, S2, A1, A2, etc.) are recorded twice, back-to-back on each voice part CD. Many All-State and Honor Choirs have a price structure which includes members paying a set fee for music, meals, etc. It would be reasonable to include an $11 fee for the Individual Song-Learning CD™ so that every member of the choir arrives at the first rehearsal with their notes, intervals and rhythms learned, ready for nuances. HMS will ship CDs en masse to the All-State Chair so they can include a CD in each student's packet. NOTE: the MINIMUM ORDER for a group of octavos is 6 songs on 50 CDs (any mixture of voice parts). Cost for minimum order is 6 songs on 50 CDs: $6+$2+$3=$11 per CDx50 = $550. You may order LESS songs on LESS CDs, but the minimum cost will remain at $550. Example: You could order 4 songs on 35 CDs, but the minimum costs would remain the same: $550 for 35 CDs with 4 songs on them. You may also order MORE than 6 songs, but the formula holds. Example: if you order 12 songs on 50 CDs, the cost would be: $12 + $2 + $3 = $17 x 50 CDs = $850. Groups of octavos on CDs are custom orders. No returns are allowed on custom CDs of a group of octavos. Please order the exact number of CDs that you will need. ADDITIONAL CDs may be ordered at the same price per CD, at a later time, however. It is our practice to include one extra, complimentary set of CDs with each order. Please feel free to call us at 1-888-770-7850 or E-Mail HMS for further clarification. Sometimes it's easier to understand how the formula for figuring the cost of a group of octavos works when we are talking on the phone, and we can explain it to you personally. |
